Strength From God

Have you ever had those days when you felt you couldn’t take one more step? It could be one more time you have to clean up after your kids. Or it could be one more time you have to deal with a co-worker’s or boss’ issue. Sometimes it’s more of a physical struggle when you are so tired that you can’t imagine taking one more step.

It’s in these times that I’ve learned to call on God right in the moment. I’ve learned to seek Him when I’m feeling weakened in the flesh. I pray for strength to keep moving forward when I want to give up. It always gives me cause to pause when I look back after taking many steps when I couldn’t even imagine taking one more. God will take us to the next mile of our journey if we are willing to turn to Him.

It always begins with an acknowledgement of God’s hand on our lives. We can get caught up in the moments that drive us crazy. This is especially true when we are looking more intently in our situation instead of looking towards God. The Lord is aware of when we are feeling stressed, but are we aware of it?

We are to cast all our anxieties on Jesus, because He cares for us. If we lay them at His feet in faith, we can know relief from the pressure and find our rest in Him. There’s something about reconciling our thoughts towards the Lord and what is promised in His word that brings a calmness. And somewhere (out of nowhere), our strength is renewed and we can finish what we’ve started. Our strength can be made new every day as we turn to Jesus.
