History
Elder C.B. Massey led in the mission efforts, which resulted in the organization of this church. While he was pastor of Old Union Missionary Baptist Church in Warren County, Brother Massey conducted a revival meeting in a tobacco warehouse at Fifth & College Streets in Bowling Green in the fall of 1921. It is estimated that more than one hundred were saved in that meeting. He continued to preach in homes, schools and parks until 1924, when the church was established.
On November 2, 1924, the church was organized with four charter members. Six others united with them on the credit of a letter the same day. The church was known as “Old Fifth Street Missionary Baptist Church” until 1955 when she moved to the present location and changed her name to “Fairview Memorial Missionary Baptist Church”.
